Mitch, Omar's uncle, the breadwinner in Omar's drug dealing family and the only father and role model he has ever known.
Mary, the bi-racial beauty who at the tender age of fourteen, with the body of a woman, but the mind of a child, finds the easy money and allure of prostitution a temptation she cannot resist.

Death of the Game

Wayne ‘Akbar’ Pray was born and raised in “Brick City,” Newark, New Jersey. At sixteen, he dropped out of Central High School. Although Akbar disliked school, he was a voracious reader of everything from classics like Shakespeare, to his favorite, Science Fiction. By the mid-1980s, he had become a successful fight promoter and businessman., with two car dealerships and several women’s healthcare clinics in Essex and Hudson Counties.

Akbar was indicted on April 21, 1988, tried and convicted of various drug offences. This book takes the reader along on his personal journey through the criminal justice system, and shares with the reader how life in “Brick City” and other cities like it, has changed. Akbar advises today’s youth that THE GAME IS DEAD! Don’t make a sucka’s bet with your life.

The story is poignant, well written and thought provoking. It is a must read for every male under 15 and for every mother and father who need a voice to help them guide their children, and for every teacher that wants to understand life in the inner city.
